Hello

Have been riding motorcycles since I was 15, now in my 60s. Past bikes include an '85 Laverda SFC100 (sold last year as it became a museum piece) and a '82 BMW R100RS that I passed onto a brother and it is still going strong with +200k miles. I've recently purchased a 70s R100S and would like to find a R69S to ride weekly. Looking forward to reacquainting myself with BMWs and enjoying them again after some absence.

cheers

Welcome to the forum and the MOA! Sounds like you have BMW blue and white running in your veins! What's the market for /2s there in Australia?

Hola Down Under, SCX.. :wave
Enjoy your summertime riding; it's pretty nippy up this way these days. Is your Airhead the full fairing or the bikini model?

Mrs-HSV enjoys her newish R100CS when the weather's cooperative here in north ALabama...
I ride the R90S when we're vintaging with our local renegades... https://www.facebook.com/groups/NorthAlabamaVintageMotorcycleClub/

Here's another M/C related destination for U when U next visit Alabama -- Do Not Miss it!

Thank you all for the welcome

/2s still surface occasionally in Australia though not to the numbers you have in your home country.

This link shows a wonderfully original R69S that sold last year for ~ A$24k .....I was too slow in my purchasing decision making, though I'm sure the new owner is enjoying the machine https://www.oldbikemag.com.au/bmw-r69s-ultimate-flat-twin/

Welcome from Newfoundland! Are you going to The Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire in Brisbane? I did not make it to the Art of the Motorcycle at the Guggenheim but I have the book. I'd dearly love to get to this show but I'm pretty sure it's not in the cards.

Welcome scx867 from the land of 100 miles of golf cart paths. That is one lovely bike! Thanks for the pic.

Thank you for the the info on "The Motorcycle: ...in Brisbane"

I wasn't aware it was showing and would dearly enjoy a gander at the bikes on display though with distance to Brisbane (~ 4,500km from Perth) plus COVID interstate quarantine requirements we have in Australia, travel is still constrained ..... if things improve maybe a redeye flight one weekend. Again thanks and for wider forum members this link shows https://www.mustdobrisbane.com/whats-on/motorcycle-design-art-desire-goma

cheers

This show is absolutely incredible! If at all possible you should try to get there. As mentioned the only other show in the world anywhere near this was the one in the Guggenheim. The collection of machinery on display is virtually impossible to recreate. Go!
