    Racing delayed

Cup committee wants to delay races 1 week until Covid level hopefully drops. British agree, but Italians, as challanger of record (COR) want races sailed as scheduled with no spectators.
    Decision today at 10:30pm est

Video is not related to delay, just accompaning article.

I know nothing about sail racing, however, when watching, regardless of which way the wind’s blowing, why doesn’t a boat just crank their sail to catch the wind from wherever, crank the rudder to keep going straight for the finish while the other boat tacks and jibes?

    Easiest answer... speed

Luckily I had set DVR to catch all and the power was on to record at right time. Caught up a few nights back.

That series was proof of how fortunes come and go quickly. How dominance one week guarantees nothing. The fastest boat early on almost sank, the engineering designs maybe not realized on another.
That Ferrari of a boat was impressive but time will tell in a few weeks

As of today, Sunday 3/7, the America's Cup races are scheduled to start Tuesday. Two races Tuesday, off day Wednsday, then two races each day until someone wins seven.

Coverage on NBCSports Network @ 10pm eastern each day.

Worth checking out even if you don't think you like watching sailing. These things are rocketships! 75 footers doing over 50mph if the wind is near 20mph. Each race takes 20-30 minutes.

Just need to remember to get the leeward foil down in time!

Walking: place right foot on ground before lifting left foot. Not doing so: falling.

Finally got some wind tonight, New Zealand smoked Italy race seven. Actually enjoyed it more than NASCAR.
