I posted this earlier in the Airhead Forum and forgot there is the New Member Forum as well, so here goes:

I just joined today and want to say hi. I rode up until I got married. Priorities changed so I sold my bikes and took a 30-year hiatus. Now that both my daughter and son are done with college and working, I suddenly had the urge to ride again. It seems like my taste has changed since I last rode. I used to ride sports bikes. This time I will be picking up this 1982 R65 early next year. The tires look good, no leaks, the numbers matched, have a title and it started with no problems, just missing the tools. It needs to be cleaned up but it's ready to go. I'm looking forward to meeting and riding with you guys.

BTW, after I told my son about it, he said he will take riding lessons and join me. Now I have to look for another airhead. And maybe I should take riding lessons as well because I'm starting all over again.

Here are a couple of pics of the R65. I'll post some more after I pick it up and clean it.

I followed the same path back to riding after raising a family. My wife and I have enjoyed it immensely and you are blessed to have a son to share it with. Lessons are always a good idea and you can take advantage of some financial help through the Foundation if you want to check that out. Welcome to the club.

Welcome! Hopefully, you and your son can take the lessons together which, if nothing else, would be a great thing to share IMO. Thanks for the pics.
