R850R/1100R Hand Protection

So, I wanted to add some hand protection to my 850. Looking at pictures of others bikes, I decided to give it a shot. Ordered a set for an 1100 GS, figured I could make them work. Well, turns out it's a bilt on swap. Part # 71 60 2 340 208 SET: SET HAND PROTECTOR 1.72 1 $62.00
Max BMW was doing a %15 online discount, so I ordered the set. I think about 8 days to get them, which surprised me. They even come with new hardware if you order the kit. I just wanted wind protection for the winter. Now I'm researching factory heated grips as I like the factory grips. I do have a set of older model heated grips that I never installed, I just don't care for the shape and material on them.

Heated grips.

I had installed Hot Grips on two different Pacific Coast motorcycles and they work and they outlast any normal grip. The first set was on that bike for 10 years. After buying my 97 R1100RT, I put the factory heated grips on the bike and they are much hotter in the hot mode and the warm mode is about the same as Hot Grips hot mode. I don't know if the BMW ones will last as long, but if they last at least six years, I will be happy.

I've gotta '94 R1100RS that I've had for many years. Not long after getting the bike, I added BMW 1100GS handguards and the BMW heated grips for the 1100RS. Both were great additions to the bike.
