If a couple or three or so ride together and each one has one, U can use them in combination as needed.

To get back to the original thread.... There is a company that makes these keys as blanks but they are somewhat hard to find.
A locksmith that has been in business for a long time will most likely have the blanks, and can probably cut one using the pieces of your original key as a guide.

There are a number of links to key suppliers in the Resources link in my signature line.

    Folding keys

I don't remember just where I found them but I did find a source of both the folding keys as well as straight keys. Finding a locksmith to cut them was the main challenge. St.

    I got to hand it

I have to hand it to Kurt as moderator, he keeps on top of things, LOL. I know, the folding keys are available or at least up until last year they were, I also remember at the R90S rally in PA someone was making the R90S barrel key blanks as well. Only Kurt would know what thread to open to find where to buy them. Cheery bye, St.

Great news, everyone. Keys came in the mail yesterday from Bobís, and I went to the local hardware store today. They made one key in under a minute, and I was able to fire up the bike to take it on its maiden voyage!
Iíll have to get some photos and a video posted soon.
The neutral light is out, and it smokes just a little, but other than that it seems to run just fine. The bike shakes more than I thought, but it is a 30 yo BMW!
I just hope there are still few warm days to get to know her before winter settles in for good.
