Service light

Recently changed the oil at 10k (previous owner had 6k service done at 4k, why?, no clue). Also had to disconnect battery for short time.
Gray service light came on and has stayed on even after updating the date and time. Can't find why by using the wheel.
Any suggestions

The service light comes on after 10,000 km or 6,000 miles and / or after one year since the last reset.

The service light needs to be reset either by the dealer's computer or with a GS-911... https://www.hexcode.co.za
Available here too..https://www.beemershop.com

A less expensive option is to purchase the MotoScan app for your smartphone (Android only) and an OBD-II reader. You can find more info about Motoscan on their website -- https://www.wgsoft.de/ You'll need to translate if from the German. MotoScan offers much -- but not all -- of the functionality of the GS-911.

This sounds correct to me.
