2020 R1250R Low Beam Bulb Replacement

Josh

I have 16,000+ miles on my 2020 R1250R in one year, and the low beam just stopped working. The owners manual does not include any instructions or reference to replacing the low beam bulb. Looking at it, I find no way to access the bulb short of totally removing the entire headlight assembly. I am not mechanically inclined, but have always been able to replace low beam bulbs on my 6 other BMW's. Do I have to go to a dealer to have this done?

Should be able to undo one side and swing the casing out - here's a synopsis from another forum:

"Basically, you need to remove wind screen (if you have it), plastic frame around the headlight, loosen the bolt on the left side and remove the one on the right. Then you turn the headlight to access the bulb cover and the bulbs behind it"

I haven't had to do it yet, but have the Haynes if you need more detail.

If it's anything like the R1200RS, remove the electrical connector (plug) before un-doing the headlight shell bulb clasp. Otherwise, it's a pain to perform that task in a confined space.
