NEW OWNER, 2004 r1200 clc 9 k miles

Thanks for any assistance.

I'd like a shop manual to show me how to complete all the service work required to achieve the 6k maintenance requirements, the seller was unsure of the previous owner had that service done. I am assuming is wasnt.

I also would like to buy a floor jack, stand etc...to allow me to service it without crawling under it...any suggestions? Any reason I can't use a regualr bike lift?

Any things I should do before riding it.

I previously had Goldwing and a BMW Touring bike (the 1980s and a K1200 LT).

Go to the Internet BMW Riders web site - IBMWR dot org. Scroll down the page, looking at the right side until you get to the Tech Articles. Click on Oilhead R-Bike Tech Articles. Download the first two General Maintenance articles. R11xx Tuneup Manual and R11xx Maintenance Manual.

In spite of the R1200 name, your CLC is more like an 11xx bike. Those two manuals should get you started. Ask questions.

Welcome to the forum! If you get a chance, post a picture of your new bike. :wave
