Battery choices

2012 1200GS. May be in the market for a new battery. My bike sits on a tender/charger when at the house.

I know this subject has been beat to death before, but what's everyone's opinion on replacing the stock bmw battery with something better?.

Odyssey makes batteries that have a good reputation. You could check them out. They are a bit expensive, but last. I had one for ten years and only replaced it because I thought it couldn't last much longer.

The PC-680 is a great battery (8 years on mine so far) but I don't think Odyssey has a battery size that fits a GS of any model year.

The Yuasa YTX14H-BS seems to be a popular option for the GS.

I've strangely had good luck with the OEM batteries. I bought a PC680 a couple times over the years and it didn't last nearly as long. My 2013 R1200RT has 109,000 miles and is still on the original battery.

I bought a Generic TLV12200 battery for my 07 ($70 including shipping at the time ) 7 years ago,and it was still working well when I sold the bike last month.
At that price, even changing it every 2 years would have been a good deal
I don't know if the GS has the same size battery. I only added a 1/4 inch padding underneath to make it fit perfectly.

I always keep the battery on the tender when the bike's in the garage

YMMV
