New to me 2017 F 800GS Trophy edition questions

This is my first BMW. Looking for a good set of crash bars that will protect the fairing and engine/ radiator. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Anything I need to know or watch for on this particular bike outside the normal
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum!
    Those are sharp looking bikes.
We have a fledgling F-Twins index here-

I have the SW-Motech from Twisted-Throttle as crash bars on my ‘09 F-800GS

They do ok. I think they are really for a “drop” more than a “crash”.

Twisted Throttle has changed their site a bit. Try this-

    https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/pro...bmw-f700gs-13/

I have had good luck with the products.

They look good. Wish they showed a front view picture. Would like to see how wide the bars are compared to the fairing.

TT is real accommodating, give them a call.
I just had the side panels off my bike and there is just enough room to snake the panels out.

I recently added them on my F700GS. They stick out far enough to protect the fairing and radiator in a drop, without being overdone. I like this relatively minimalist approach. Some of the other bars look ungainly to me.

I ordered mine directly from SW Motech and they arrived in 2 days.

Be advised that they ship with extra hardware to accommodate fitment on multiple models (F650GS, F700GS, F800GS). The extra hardware can lead to some confusion. My suggestion is to sort all the nuts, bolts, and spacers first and compare them to what is shown in the pictogram instructions, matching them up with each step.

Thanks for the advice. I think I’ll be going with these.

The F800GS's are fairly robust and you have one of the better years due to some upgrades (forks, stator, fuel pump, rear sprocket bolt size). Beyond your normal TCLOC checks, not much else.
