Brake caliper cover?

I distinctly remember "older" RT (and other models) having black plastic covers on their brake calipers. One needed to "pop" the cover off to replace pads. Anyway, I have a new, to me, '17 RT with neither front caliper having a top cover. Is this the current design or am I two covers short?
