new to me 1974 r90/6

I believe your writing about the ‘74 model bench seat. Yes, it’s a little different than the ‘75 and ‘76 seat. The ‘74 is almost a different bike than the ‘75 and ‘76. BMW was always in a slow change from year to year. My fav in look is the ‘74. The ‘76 is the best in tech upgrades.

I agree barryg, for me in this case, the bike was in such good condition, I could not pass it up. I found Bobs BMW sells a replica seat for $369.00 looks identical to the original, I asked him if he new anyone who would cover the original seat for me, and he gave me johnlongo.net a custom seat maker, so i called him and he 100% confident he can reproduce the original seat and has done plenty of them, so I think over the winter, I will send the seat out to him and for $400.00 he will make it new. Has anyone ever used him? Thanks!!

Black ‘74 R90/6

U might like looking at a series of pics of my ‘74. My ‘74 was basically a touring rat bike. Did a econo rebuild on it back in the early 90’s. My inspiration was the Moto Guzzi Eldorado from the same era. If your interested , on the MOA site find the The Club; then Regional South. Find my thread Mid-South Ride, Eat, and Meet. Go to post #2847. Follow the progression off and on thru post #2904. Probably got somewhere around 100,000 miles on this bike.
