Saturday I got together with a few friends for a trip around Angeles National Forest.
Starting from roughly 80 feet of elevation in Long Beach, up to a max of 7760+ feet along Angeles Crest Highway. Temperatures ranged from 72* to 90*.
The route was from Long Beach to the meetup in Sunlund-Tujunga, out Big Tujunga Canyon, jog along Angeles Forest Highway to Mount Emma Road and up to Wrightwood on Angeles Crest Highway with a short stop along a riverbank. Lunch/late breakfast and ice cream in Wrightwood and lots of chat.
Once all were ready we headed over to Mormon Rock to check the view before back-tracking through Wrightwood onto Angeles Crest Highway. Stopped for another jaw session at the Jarvi National Memorial lookout. Another hour or so passed before we got back on the road, making our way east on Angeles Crest Hwy past the (closed for now) Newcomb's Ranch. Turned right onto Upper Big Tujunga Rd (aka "9 mile") back to AFH, left on AFH and right on Big Tujunga back to Sunland-Tujunga. From there a little more slab to get home.
