2004 R1100S shifter pedal knob

Was riding today, on the highway got off, went to downshift, nothing there, look down, just a screw.
Looked up the diagram on A&S and it looks like my year has a different shifter. The peddle is held on with a screw. Just slightly behind where the ball sits. The diagram shows the peddle comes out from wheee that ball sits, it’s all one piece.
I wondering if anyone knows where to get a little knob or peddle piece, aftermarket something.
Or if I buy a whole unit on eBay, will it fit and work proper? I wonder if any angles are different somehow.

What a load of crap. I’m just going to get a bolt and put a bunch of nuts on it for the time being.

I ride my bike a lot, like 1500 miles a month, guess I need to check more bolts for torque.

I think we need to see a picture. I looked at the parts diagram and as you said it doesn't seem to match your description of the problem. I can't tell what fell off.

If “your year has a different shifter” it’s because a previous owner changed it. Your bike came from factory with same shifter as all R1100S from 1999-2005 and that’s probably what you should look to fit. I’m also not certain if a previous owner could have adapted a transmission from another model to an S, but if so you have a bit of a nightmare and the requested photo is certainly necessary.

Looks stock to me

I put some nuts on the bolt that was left.
But actually looking closer it does look like it was chopped off, damn they did a pretty good job, well that answers that, eBay here i come!
