Heated seat problem! 2016 R1200RT

I know it is middle of July here in Ontario, Canada but middle of last spring my heated seat quit heating! With the coming of fall, I thought I better get the problem sorted out! The thing is, I had my seat redone by Russell and for about a year the heated seat worked fine! Now that the seat heat quit, the dealer will not repair or replace under warranty because the seat has been modified! Looking at Max BMW parts, the seat must be replaced as a whole unit! I would have thought just the heating element would be replaceable! Anyone have any options?:ca

You can check on line there are numerous sellers out there of seat heating elements, remove the seat cover and install new pad, reinstall cover.

Before disassembling the seat, I'm sure you'll check all relevant fuses, the operation of the switch and make sure power is reaching the heating element.

I've always had good experience with the RDL folks. You might try asking them first, since they had the most recent dealings with your seat.
