Is Rider magazine still going at digital only? I never get a notice from them on when it has been released. Not sure I understand why they can't be in print, aren't most magazines facing the same challenges? Why can publications like, American Legion, Martha Stewart, Car & Driver and People put out a monthly, but Rider seems to in a bunker? Seems all this is put together electronically, without much need to avoid human contact. Or is it their just on the verge of going under financially?

When I realized that I hadn't gotten a print magazine since around March 2020, I went to the Rider Magazine customer service page. There was a form to complete, including some info from the last paper magazine. Upon doing that I started getting emails with a link to the digital issue. The digital issue can be downloaded as a pdf or viewed on-line.

I expect that printing and mailing costs are very high. I believe that most "print" magazines will move in this direction eventually.

Here is the link to the Rider Magazine customer service page with the form to complete to begin getting an email notification and access to the digital issue.

Just tried calling Rider's Customer Service number (1-800-678-2279), met with "...this number is no longer in service...." message. Has the magazine folded? Who has received a recent digital edition and when was that? I fear my last 15 months of recent subscription is gone.

Also put a call into this Group: EPG Media & Specialty Information, customerservice@epgmediallc.com, (763) 383-4492

They are listed in Rider's ad for ordering Print and Digital scripts...no where in that marketing material does it say print not available, only that the best deal is print and digital together for $22.00 a year or so. Seems there isn't a clear message of what is actually going on at Rider.

That phone number is no longer in service.

I asked Clem Salvadori about what's going on with Rider. He wrote:

Lots of problems. Rider went digital in April. With many complaints. Readers with subs can call 763-383-4492 to bitch them out. Or email customerservice@epgmediallc.com Send that out to the BMWMOA site.

Well no, I actually don't. I misread the cover date on a printed copy from (ahem) July 2018.

This comports with what Clem and the rest of you say that Rider is now only online.

I received no phone response to my inquiry however, I did receive the following from my email (to customerservice@epgmediallc.com ) inquiry:

Hi Dan,

Rider April and May did not print due to the COVID-19 outbreak; your subscription will be extended by 2 issues.

Here are the links to both issues:

https://read.epgmediallc.com/i/1217118-april-2020

https://read.epgmediallc.com/i/1235046-may-2020

We return to print with the June and July issues which will mail this week. Here are the links these issues till they arrive:

https://read.epgmediallc.com/i/1251486-june-2020

https://read.epgmediallc.com/i/1261157-july-2020

Have a good afternoon!

Hopefully this will come true (nothing yet this week) however, I'll be cautious to renew. Does seem odd to send a June print out in mid July, especially when it was out by digit. I'd prefer the magazine be up front about its situation than me having to search for it and ask what's going on. Too many other magazines (Car & Driver, Motor Trend, my spouse's quilting mags and so on) were able to print in these last months...me thinks Rider must be suffering from same financial woes all MOTORCYCLE publishers have been and not necessarily COVID-19 related. Mostly a very diminished business segment....motorcycling.

Sad times compared to the robust years of past decades.

The American Rifleman magazine “skipped” an issue (sorta 2 into 1) due to the Covid deal. I’m finding quite a number of procedures out of sync due to the virus.

Thanks for the info, nothing in the mail here either.

I hope like you it's not that they're in a bad financial situation. It could be as simple as that their printer had to shut down because they were ordered to do so by their health authorities. In my province, all non essential businesses had to.

Good point(s)...I remain, perhaps, too cynical. Hope they do not fold, motorcycling journalism is already a mere shadow of its former self.

Well I'm worried that a number of publications may end up going out of business, for a variety of reasons..

The problem may be feeding on itself. Next time at the newsstand, check the per issue pricing. Strange times.

Dear Rider Magazine Subscribers,

Thank you for your loyalty and your readership. Rider magazine is going on its 47th year of monthly publication and we have no intention of stopping anytime soon. We apologize for the issues with your print subscription. Due to the economic fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic, Rider Magazine is currently being produced in a digital format exclusively--links to the most recent and earlier editions are below. Our former customer service provider shut its doors shortly after we went digital, which is why the old contact number and email address n the March 2020 and earlier issues go unanswered. The new Customer Service contact information is below.

We are working as hard as we can to get Rider back in print, but we're experiencing the same uncertainty about the immediate future as everyone else. Links to every digital issue have been available for free on our website ridermagazine.com since March 2020, and still are. Please be patient as we Ride This Out together.

As a current subscriber, you should be receiving links by email to the digital magazine on a monthly basis. If you are not, please contact our customer service center to make sure that we have accurate contact information for you.

Email customerservice@epgmediallc.com or call (763) 383-4492. If you call, please be sure to leave a message with your call back info, and please remember that the people handling the calls did not create this situation. They will return your call as soon as possible.

They can also help you if you wish to make changes to your subscription. Thank you for your patience, and thanks for continuing to read Rider!

Here are links to the digital editions of Rider April - July 2020:

When one clicks the link to a digital issue a page similar to that below appears. It is easy to just download a pdf file for later viewing. No flash plug-in required. Just need a pdf viewer.
