Sporadic High Idle Speed K1200S

BC1100S

Left Coast Rider
Sometimes when coming off the highway after cruising at legal speeds, my bike will temporarily idle at 1500-1700rpm before slowly going down to 1150 or so. Doesn't happen all the time.

Can anyone tell me why and what I need to do to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

My K1300GT will do the same thing. It will idle a little high until I come to a complete stop. This was the software update for the K bikes that had an issue with the idle dying when coming to a stop.

Well then, I guess I won't worry about it. Thanks!

My 07 k1200gt also does it occasionally. While going through the gears, up or down, each time I let off the throttle and pull in the clutch the rpm increases about 500 - 1000.
It will continue to do this till the key in turned off and restarted.
