Honestly, since the engine is an over square (i.e., Bore > Stroke) design, it should be called the "Short Stroke Wankerhead".

Honestly can't someone post more endearing post for this butt ugly over sized under powered monstrosity. Who bought 180? I thin if I bought one I throw the engine, pipes, chrome away an replace it with an R100 engine and pipes. And still a piece of s>>>

I actually like it compared to the Rocket 3 or even an 1800 Goldwing. If I were in the market I would buy one just because. I fail to understand why a motorcycle not exactly to one person's taste needs to be assailed by that person. If we all thought alike and wanted the best motorcycle ever built we would all own either a first year R1100RS or a K75T.

I too like it and think BMW did an excellent job in making this custom boxer cruiser. I went on line and did a build and lord they have a plethora of neat accessories you can ad and they look very well made. Expensive I am sure but they look like works of art. If I were in the market I would buy one in a heartbeat. Oh and it looks like Gulf Coast BMW in Ft. Meyers FL has some for pre-order.

Funny, I absolutely hated my R1100RS I sold it to a friend who asked why I was selling it so cheap. I told him it was a wonderful bike and he loves it. I wanted it to go to someone who would love it as it is a great bike. I just could not get it to settle in with me. Honestly only motorcycle I ever sold that I did not regret selling horribly.
As you say not every bike is made for every rider.
Just to stay on topic I love the look of the R1800 I can't wait to see what it really looks like.

While I was really impressed by my 1986 K75 and my current R1200RS has grown on me (adaption to the ESA suspension and old-school turn signal switch gear), any time I buy a first year BMW model I live in fear of the first year design / build blunders I seen in BMW cars.
