Hi, just got an R1100RS with over 70K on the clock and am curious as to what these shocks might be. The front [orange spring]] has an air valve.

And that’s NOT an air valve, it’s a Schrader valve through which the shock is charged with (IIRC) nitrogen, so you really don’t want to put an air chuck on there. :eek

Best,
DeVern

thanks. you probably kept me from messing it up.

I can't find anything on the web that looks like the front shock. Perhaps, Ted Porter and Hyperpro could identify the unit from the pic. I've never seen a Hugon that color.

I have some Wilbers with an orange spring, the yellow most likely Ohlins as mentioned

I can make out 5029 stamped on the front shock?

The only blue body shocks I can find on the web are Chinese products on eBay.

Based on shape and the bottom mounted spring preload spanner nuts, Progressive is the only thing close....

That shock looks very much like the Fox shock I had on the front of my R1100RSL. Same body and spring color. Fox is no longer doing motorcycle shocks but shops like Lindeman Engineering can still rebuild them. http://www.le-suspension.com/

Best,
