Best Place to Mount Additional Powerlet on R1250GS?

I'd like to install an additional Powerlet socket near the rider's seat on my R1250GS. Is anyone who has done this willing to share some pics and tips of their installation? It looks like there may be room in the plastic well that houses the bike computer and fuse assembly (under the rider seat), to the rear of the bike's computer, but it looks like a tight fit. Any suggestions much appreciated.

I have installed a socket on my 2014 GSA and just recently on my 2020 GSA in the place you are looking. I had a template but I gave it to a friend to do his new GSA. There is enough space on the left side if you drop down low enough that the body of the receptacle goes under the ECU connector. You can do it with a standard DIN (Powerlet) receptacle but I found that the low profile one gives more room and better electrical protection. The cable can go forward on the left side under the ECU connector, crossing over to the right side in front of the ECU box, under the frame to the battery connection.

    1200gs 2018

Hi, looking at adding an accessory outlet to use for the battery tender (at rest) and heated gear (when riding). Is there a specific model of the Powerlet accessory for a GS or is it universal. And is Powerlet the best option or should I consider another brand. Also looking to put it on the body (side), not on the handlebars.

Had a powerlet on my 2013 GS and want to put the same on the 2018, but unsure of the model.

    Thanks

Most seem to prefer 2 “pig-tails”. The heated gear frequently uses a coaxial style and the battery tender (usually comes with the tender) a 2- pin “SAE” style connector.
The direct wired SAE connector allows the option of using other devices such as a tire pump.

Thanks OM. Yeah, had 2 pigtails on an RT and worked well. Also have the adapters for both heated gear and optimate charger that plug into either the correct pigtails or the accessory outlet. Like the cleaner look of an outlet but will check out the suggested forums. (and Go Sox in 2021 )
