Air Chuck for K1300 rear wheel

Last winter I rebuilt Glenlivet’s sidecar rig and swapped out the GSA wheels for 17” cast wheels. The tub wheel is a cast GS rim and the front is off an RT. No trouble with either. But the rear rim is off a K bike and I’m having a heck of a time finding a chuck (for the little compressor I take with me on trips) that fits. With TPMS the Valve stem is rigid and neither the Slime nor the CyclePump chucks clear. There’s just not enough room between the rigid valve stem and the cast spokes to get the chuck to seal right. At home my MotionPro chuck works, but it can’t be fitted to either portable unit

What are you K bike owners using?

wheel must not be from a K1300S. there is a ton of clearance around the valve for just about any filling device.

For airing up a tire, this might be an option but would need to be removed for normal operation:

You using the TPS on your bike? If not, put a shorter rubber or 90 metal valve

Good thing you tried your travel pump before you hit the road.

This type of adapter is popular through the RV/Truck industry. Used primarily on duel rear wheels and left on permanent, they adapt well to occasional use as well.



The knuckle-heads at Winnebago, with all the air tools/adapters/hoses I have, supplied a duel rear wheel setup that I could not access I used a hose adaption to be able to check the air pressure.

It should be noted that extensions should not be left on rubber valve stems as you drive/ride. The rotational oscillation will quite possible tear the rubber stem and cause a leak.
