....that retrace the trip of the Joab family (fitting name from the old testament) during the Great Depression - narrated in part with passages from the book. It's a fitting watch for these days and times.

Uh, it was the Joad family in The Grapes of Wrath.

I was nearly mugged in Toronto when I lived there. A Good Samaritan saved me from a group of teenagers. They weren’t particularly nice.

According to CNN, the first case of the UK variant Coronavirus has been detected in Colorado- Elbert County. It will be interesting to see where and how this spreads.
Be careful out there.

I am hoping that what I heard on the news today was fake news;

The US has a stockpile of 20M vaccinations that have been sitting for a (week/month?) and that currently less than 1m vaccinations have been given?

The US needs to vaccinate 3.8M people a day to have a chance at 80% coverage by September 2021?

At the current vaccination rate, it will take 20 years to achieve 80%?

Tell me I'm wrong..............please.

They said they expected 20 million vacinnations by the end of December. They are a shorthair over 10% of that goal. Production is one thing. Distribution is another. And actually administering it into arms is a problematic third. Each state seems to be on its own, and in many states funding is an issue since almost all states are required to balance their budgets every year.

I found these sites interesting. There is probably a better site for US stats, did not have a total.

I would bet the numbers change a bunch in the next few days.

Canada's numbers, I would think, should go better as that they have a unified health care system as opposed to ours that are separate operations competing with each other.

Hospitals here in Michigan are licensed by the state and I doubt competing hospital chains even talk to each other to see if they could help each other out.

I just got done watching a show I like- Gun Dog TV. I’m not really a hunter but really enjoy watching the dogs work. The first show ended up being a compilation and review of past first of the seasons beginning hunting normally held in Canada.
The host was very sympathetic to the hunting, fishing and sporting outfitters that depend on Americans that make up the bulk of their clients........ More fallout from the pandemic.
I also enjoy the show for their “breed profiles” as I am looking for a new dog.
The tentacles of the virus continue to expand.
Stay safe.
