Wondering if John's different file size is due to him using a Mac or something like that.
I wonder why your Nav V has a smaller file size than our Nav Vs?

Lee the Nav-V, that I referenced wasn't mine. It was John's. Sorry for any confusion. ;-)I wonder why your Nav V has a smaller file size than our Nav Vs?
Which I believed from his posts is a Nav-V, and IIRC, from past posts, he runs a Mac.

Join the club! ;-)It doesn't take much to confuse me
John, I don't think there was any RAM difference in versions of the Nav-V. I'm thinking it is something else, but don't know what.Alan and Lee - So you'll know the history, I DL/d the Garmin Express Update on my 2015 MacBook Pro a couple of weeks ago when it told me it was available. I found the Map Update on the morning of 2/20 and DL/d that update on the same Mac. I do have a BMW Navigator V purchased in mid-June 2015. My original post included a screenshot of the page in Garmin Express. I can't explain the difference.
If this makes any difference, my DL speed is close to 300MB/s at that hour of the morning. However, I can't see how that would affect anything.
Perhaps its early purchase date meant that later NavV models came with more RAM storage for map files? I dunno...
Also, different GPS units have features like FourSquare, etc.I just updated my Nuvi and noticed it does not have a DEM map.
That would explain a big difference between the Nuvi and Nav V.
DEM is Digital Elevation Model.
That's the map layer that gives you a 3D view.
