I’ve been trying to buy something from Hornig in Germany. They said they could not get my VISA payment because of 3D Secured (and that I should send a copy of my US passport and credit card). They said I could pay by PayPal, but I’ve spent a week trying to get them to reverse the charge to my card (I finally contacted VISA).

Sorry to sound like I’m ranting. I just want to know if this is a common problem with them.

I can’t think of something I would want so bad that I would wander Germany handing out information like that.

Post what you are trying to locate and see if one of the forum members can help you with a more reasonable source.

NEVER! Even though Hornig has a solid reputation in Germany. I am surprised that they made such a request.

I checked the Hornig website and nothing like that was mentioned in the section about payment options. But they require you to have registered with "Verified By Visa" (3d verification) if you pay with a Visa card. Did you do that?

I was a bit surprised by the request for the passport, and I told them I wasn’t comfortable sending it.

No I didn’t register. I’ve never heard of it.

I’m trying to buy their slim luggage lids for a K1600GT.

My Visa is registered with Visa Secure and sometimes it doesn't work. I switch to Pay-Pal if offered and use Visa as a payment method.

Had no issues with Horning

I live in Canada and have recently ordered items from Horning without issue, both with credit card and most recently with a money transfer via my bank to theirs.

I like many of the products that Horning has that I cannot find in North America, excellent quality too.
