Removal and replacement of oil cooler

Hello Everyone,

I would like to remove the oil cooler and replace it with the regular stock oil filter cover. Has others done this? I'd like to have your input before proceeding or not.

Thanks in advance

Part number

I believe the part number for the pipe Ikcris mentions is 09 11 11 1 263 342 PIPE - L=38MM,

Don't take my word 100% as I cannot find the part number of the pipe for an oil cooler equipped bike.

I do know when I took the cooler off of my 78 100RS, I used this number part.

I would look up the year and model bike the change is being made to and verify the part number. St.
