Correct Air Filter for a 2017 R1200GS.

I added a bit to your title and will move this to the Wethead section later.

The parts lookup at a number of dealers can help you. Many use the one at MAX BMW.

If you go to the bottom of that ad, there is a BMW part number shown. If that part number is correct - posted by the seller - then that filter is for the R1200GS 2010-2013. Use the online parts fiche for your model and year bike to get the correct part number.

That surprises me a lot since the seller in the OP link is Max BMW. I would have thought that Max BMW would not say it was correct if it wasn't.

The Amazon link does not show it fits a 2017, it shows it fits 2010 to 2013 bikes.
The OP selected the wrong filter.

FWIW, my guess is that the OP did not specify that his bike was a GSW. When I did an Amazon search with the criteria "BMW R1200GSW", the correct filter came up.
