Pinstriping my wixoms

I'm repainting a pair of Wixom bags I found. They were in really rough shape and needed a lot of work. I want to have them pinstriped like a pair I had on my 1971 /5.

Could any one verify the width of the stripe. I would like the painter to replicate as close as possible to the original pin striping. Pictures are from the bags I had. I believe these are original to Wixom. I wish I had measured when I owned them. Never thought I would doing a project like this.

Any help would be appreciated,

Can you verify using my avatar? ;) I can provide more info tomorrow!

I have the exact same bags out in the garage. In the mourning I'll measure the pinstripping and get back to you.

Not exactly sure where to take measurements. The dimensions change as they moved around the lid/bag and move to a point at the back. But as an example, I measured the striping across the top of the lid near the front. I found this:

- thick stripe -- 5.5mm
- thin stripe -- 3.0mm
- space between stripes -- 3.7mm

It appears the striping is hand done and as one would expect vary a bit along the way. But you could use those kinds of numbers and the person doing the striping would have to keep the basic dimensions and join the stripes at the ends.

Really, not that easy; and I've done this before.
The Lid
Wide stripe on the side.
6.00mm
0.2365in.
Wide stripe on the front.
4.75mm
O.187in

The Lid
The thin stripe on the side.
3.5mm
0.1380 in
The thin stripe on the front
2.5mm
0.0985 in

I don't really have close ups of my bags, but in essence the striping looks just like jschara's. Here's a bigger picture from which I made my avatar.
