I've been a GS rider for a few years now. First bike was an R1200C back in 2002.
I love the twin boxers and ride a 2016 R1200GS now.

I live in the Santa Cruz mountains. I don't get out as often as I like because the car people are miserable here so I pretty much only get my bike out when I'm going out for days.

My favorite trip which I like to do twice/year (once in the spring and once in the fall) is a trip over Tioga Pass (Yosemite) to stay in Mono Lake. Then I'll take a trip to Death Valley the following day.
Probably only a few days in the year where it's warm enough for Yosemite and cool enough for Death Valley, but when it happens those 4 days of riding are amazing.

This past May, Tioga pass wasn't passable so I went a little farther north and enjoyed this little hail storm. Video was taken with a 360 degree so you can grab the picture and scroll to see different angles. Fun stuff!

I'm constantly amazed at the handling of this machine.
I don't use it on dirt, although I may someday, but I do enjoy the upright and tall riding position helping me see so much.
