G310GS Install for Cyclops Evolution Signal Inserts

Cyclops has a nifty upgrade kit for the G 310 GS that transforms its signal lights into brilliant white marker lights while also switching to blinking amber when activated. It also does the same for the rear signals, bright red except when signaling. The white lights get their power directly from the battery, but the trick on this bike though is finding a power lead to tap into for the "trigger" or relay wire that energizes the power to the LEDs when the key is on. For the front I plan to tap into the power lead to the low beam. Does anyone know what color that is on this bike? Also, is there another, better place to tap on to a key-on power lead? On my F700 it was an easy matter, just tap the power to the accessory outlet. (The 310 doesn't have one of those.) Finding a wire diagram for the 310 appears to be impossible.

I just bought the Cyclops LED headlight bulb for my F700GS and my Yamaha XT250. WOW, what a difference! My 700 was going thru regular H7bulbs in the low beam like crazy, so thought I would try this. Seems to be a voltage spike causing the problem :scratch. It was getting expensive :). Much more light too.

There is a power lead inside the headlight cover after you take off an enormous amount of fasteners. The fasteners look similar but are about four different types. I use one of those plastic separator boxes where you can put the fasteners from different spots and label them for reassembly. It is not intuitive. The switched power connector type is of a design like nothing easily found and I think are shown on the parts fiche as a turn signal lead. If you go to the Adv Rider site, Thumpers and then BMW 310 GS thread you can see photos of the electrical connector and early in the thread you can see discussions on fastener removal. Take your time and keep your sense of humor.
