Signed up for 'LA' as well.
It'll make a nice getaway in late winter.
And it's just down the road from National Naval Aviation Museum. :thumb

We got home a little while ago from our first, but definitely not last, event. Man what a great time we had. Here's a few thoughts on this:

I just retired from law enforcement. Two weeks ago. Which means I have spent the last 25 years of my life being hyper-vigilant and super distrustful of people. That's the worst part of the work I did. I interacted with the worst of mankind about 90 percent of the time, and the best of mankind only when they were having the worst day of their lives. That kind of wears on you over time. In response, we put up defensive walls to keep folks out. This weekend was the first time in FOREVER that I felt totally at ease with people. Y'all were so friendly, so welcoming, and so fun! I really didn't know how to act.

I love how relaxed the atmosphere was. No crazy schedules, nothing rushed, just chill. Totally cool. Kudos to all the volunteers and organizers!

I won a major award! Not an electric stiletto-leg lamp, but a collapsible cooler filled with cool MOA swag. Just for being there and being the newest member. As the saying goes, membership has its privileges.

Best of all, my wife is now talking about when and where the next ride will be. So. Much. Awesome!!

Thank you all for a great mini-vacation!

Good 4 U, Mr & Mrs JZ!
U might also call it, Beginner's Luck! but that's a good thing for your new way of life. As U saw, I'll bet there were quite a few Retirees in that gathering (ourselves too). We'll be returning to Fontana in April for the 3rd time - it's that much fun. The atmosphere is very Chill, and the roads in that area are exceptional (if U don't already know that). We're also planning to re-enter the US from AK, BC, YT, NT, & AL in time for the National in Gr8 Falls, MT in June. Maybe HSV-Karen will get the Long-Distance female award, but then who knows...

Good Luck on the next door-prize drawing! It gets harder for most of us... :dunno

We're riding home from the shore the long way, but we too enjoyed another Getaway this time Hosted by Señor Ted.
Thanks to all for some authentic southern hospitality.

JZ good talking with you at dinner on Friday. I to delt with some of the same in people in my job before I retired. Get on that LT and ride, you will find when you ride a bike people will come up to you and start conversations. They ask lots of questions etc. Get that test ride on the new RT. I would also test the K16 models too if you do a lot of two up riding. You will be amazed at the power and handling of all the new BMW’s.

Muchos Gracias, Ted

Just wanted to add that Señor Ted & his crewe sent me a nice Polo shirt as a door prize today. T'weren't the set of tires I was yearning for, But it's still a very nice gesture on behalf of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of Merca!

I won't get my door prize hopes up at the Fontana Getaway. Looking forward to some warmer temps in April... :wave

Ciao! HSV-Phil
