    Removing F850GSA shift lever

I've replaced both side foot pegs on the F/GS without a problem, but this Adventure model is designed differently. Engine side case interferes with moving shift lever high enough to get foot peg bolt all the way out...without apparent removal of entire shift lever.

Has anyone replaced foot pegs or shift lever on the F850GSA? The lever pivots on a very large torx nut/bolt. Is that pivot nut/bolt only attached to the mounting plate or does it run through and support more than the plate? Is it screwed into a fixed fastener or is there a back side bolt I'd have to get at? Appreciate any input.

    Installing lowered foot pegs

I ran into the same issue with my F850GSA. As I was at the 600 mile break-in Service, I took the footpeg package to my local dealer Dennis Dillon Power Sports and let them remove the shift lever and install the pegs. (I know, cheating!) I am at the 6K service now and will let them install the upper crash bars during this service.

T-60 headed pivot bolt with 13mm head bolt on back side. Loosen enough to rotate shift lever out of way (with quick shift mechanism detached). Reinstall at 19 lb/ft torque.
