Thread: What is this?

    What is this?

It came with my '01 LT, and looks like it is absolutely essential if I want to do something.

    But what?

Maybe an aftermarket wireless tire-pressure-monitoring valve cap?

IF there are no internal threads - that kind of looks like a standard RCA phone plug... maybe a mini-antenna for the radio?

No threads. The center pin is spring loaded, and they were on a ring with a spare key, key code, and the alarm fob. I thought possibly a quick release for the ignition key, but I can't see how that would work, either. Possibly something to do with the alarm system?

Anyway, they're well made. Nicest ones I've ever had, I think.

I believe it is an alternative alarm fob.

On our 1998 K1200RS (or was it the 2004 K1200RS?) there was an OEM alarm.

There was a fob like thing that you could press a button or two on to set or turn off the alarm.

The other was the piece you show that went over a small, circular insert in the dash that would also turn the alarm on or off.

It was handy to have when I would inadvertently set off the alarm in my back yard shop by mistake.

OK. Does anyone know what I can/should do with it?

Geeze, you're really opening up to some comments on that ... but stash it in a safe place where you won't forget about it.

Do they use batteries?? If so, renew it.
