What Oil?

No manufacturer can force you to use their oil even if they threaten that the warranty will be voided etc..
If they want you to use their oil under those circumstances they would have to provide it for free..

True, but you must use a product that meets all the manufacture's requirements. Every "oil thread" I've read (and that's been more than a few) there is at least one person, and often several, that think oil is oil or that they can use branded car motor oil in their motorcycle, which is almost never the case and hasn't been for many years.
