I have lost track of the “new” NASCAR points and whatnot. I still enjoy the technology, skill and craftsmanship that makes it workand the patriotism exhibited

They really beat the heck out of the gearboxes on this track. Sequential. Blip bang Big Bang. Maybe airheads could use their tranny oil? Shockproof?
Looks like the Aussies. Later you can pick up the last two minutes of yer NFL team.
I don’t understand the shifting they do on those “gear boxes”. I understand shifting a Mack truck without the clutch.......just not those mated to 800hp gas engines.
I’m not much for watching the National Felony League but I realize that some live and die for football.

I think trannies are constant mesh like motorcycle/beemers. Match revs, shift, or use clutch finish last. IIRC.

Something from a "reddit" forum...!! Anyway, it appears using straight cut gears and modifications to the dog ring. Still requires (I think) for them to blip the throttle which "unloads" the gears slightly before the shift can happen.

At one time all the NASCAR teams used Getrag transmissions for the road courses. I think Getrag got bought out a few years ago. Other than stop and start they don't use the clutch. If I remember the teams like the transmission for its modular design. They were used in BMW cars for years.
