Electrical system questions - turn signals '94 R1200R

Hello Folks, A friend of mine recently acquired a 1994 R1200R. He is attempting an electrical troubleshoot of the turn signal system which seem buggered up. The question I have is concerning ground/earth wiring. I myself have have a 2004 K1200LT and it has all the ground wires are brown tying to a common point, not the frame. Is the same true with this older R1200R bike? We have yet to purchase a service manual that would have wiring schematic.

BMW has used brown wires for ground since I was a Cub Scout. They all eventually tie to the chassis or the engine or the battery.

However, I don't think BMW built an R1200R in 1994. So we really don't know what the bike is.

All German cars, too.

It's a standard developed by Bosch.

ground = earth, and brown is a pretty good representation. Kind of like low beam is yellow and high beam is white.
