Welcome to the MOA tech pages tbroad. Always include the year and model of your bike when asking for help. This helps us help you.
I note that both my airheads have no "frame flange" and the center stand is mounted with a spacer, bolt, lock washer and nut. It is not threaded into any flange as you describe. So knowing which bike we are discussing is necessary to get useful info.
