Reinstalling fuel sending unit 97 RT

I pulled it loose because the vapor canister is still installed and wanted to check for damage to the tube. Now I can't get it oriented to go back in and the Clymer manual that came with the bike doesn't address the RT sender. So is the trick to take the tank off, flip it and remove the fuel pump and filter unit? I don't want to bend anything I can't see down in the tank so figured I'd ask. Thanks for the help.

You are mostly correct. If you add NSFW words and frustration coupled with beers for your buddies so they can laugh, it still won't go together according to any reason.

It's been too many years since I had mine out but I recall taking out the fuel pump assembly for access. The why escapes me as it drops in from the top.

Well I finally got it in there. Been years since I’ve hunted around in the dark trying to locate a small orifice. Now if only it still works when I hook the battery back up. And Sir Yoda, what, did you have a drone hovering outside my garage? Uncanny!

I'm a Canuck. I don't know any NSFW words, nor is beer drinking with my buddies a constant habit (that is most unenjoyable) so if I had a drone, I would probably be shocked.

I dig. I don't have any buddies, wife won't let me drink beer, and I got no idea what NSWF stands for...
