    Center Stand Spring....

Anyone have some tips on how to get the bigger of the 2 springs on the center stand? Had to replace the one spring and bolt but now trying to get the bigger of the two on with no success.

I put a suitable piece of cord on the spring hood, put a loop in the free end, use a suitable prying device to expand the spring, hook it and cut the cord off the spring end.

Grab a stack of small washers or pennies. Bend the spring back and forth, inserting a coin or washer between the coils of the spring and working from on end to the other. When you have enough length on the spring pop it into place then start removing the spacers. Retire to the deck with a cold brew and enjoy your unscarred fingers and eyes not injured by flying springs or slipped pulling devices. 😊

    Thanks...

Thanks. Gonna try those ideas today. Not sure I have a suitable spreader but will peruse the tools for something.

    Update....

Used the penny method as mentioned and 2 different screw drivers to pull on the spring and lever onto the mounting point. Worked pretty well. Thanks for the ideas.

Congrats. I've installed centerstands on our 2 K1200S and 2 K1300S that we've owned. I made a homemade pry bar that Archimedes would have been proud of.
