2012 1200ADV missing tank badges

Over the course of a few months both BMW logo tank badges fell off the bike and were lost. The factory adhesive appears to have degraded with time and heat?

I found the factory part number but am not thrilled about paying $130 (pair) for what amounts to BMW's marketing. A low priority item so I'll keep watching the auction pages.

As I prefer not to become a repeat buyer, does anyone have thoughts on the best adhesive for mounting the replacements? Base on the tank is a thin aluminum disk & I'm guessing the new badge will be either plastic or aluminum on the reverse.

3M molding tape is very strong. Not sure if it's thin enough for this application.

One of my badges fell off this weekend (The quality goes in before the name falls off) so I am in need of a new badge.
The glue that holds the emblem on seems to have denigrated. The plastic chrome piece is still on the fairing I just need
the emblem. Any thoughts?

As to the question of how to attach the new badge. I have had great success with using Ultra Black RTV for gluing things
on my cycle and car. Do not laugh about gluing parts on vehicles. If you see how modern day cars are put together
you would be surprised at how much glue is used.
