GS911 help needed R1150RT

happy wanderer

Day Dreaming ...
This is a long shot but a buddy on Vancouver Island needs to read his fault codes on a 2004 R1150RT. He had a parking lot mishap with the whizzy brakes (iABS) when someone cut him off in a parking lot and the bike fell over. Since that happened the two ABS lights and the ! lights have been on.

There is no way to read or reset the iABS fault codes without a GS911 or the BMW shop computers. The bike is located in Royston BC which is very close to Comox, Courtenay and Cumberand BC.

If anyone near Courtenay, Cumberland or Royston happens to have a GS911 and can read (and then reset) his fault codes so we can get started fixing the problem. GSAddict has told me it will probably end up being a low fluid error which apparently is common after a tip over. The brakes are working perfectly despite the annoying blinking lights at the moment so hoping for an easy fix!

If you do have one please PM me and I will put you two in touch with each other. Thanks!

Have you tried checking the gap between the sensor and the disc?

Joe

No. The bike is in Royston and I'm in East Vancouver. The owner is not mechanically adept so I'm just trying to help out. I do not suspect the sensors simply because the ABS light went on immediately after the tip over. Nothing has been done to the bike other than it fell over. So cause and effect is not a mystery on this one. The tip over caused the fault; of that I have no doubt. But nailing down exactly what the problem is requires reading the codes.

Not looking for troubleshooting info on this one. Looking for a GS911 on Vancouver Island to _start_ troubleshooting. Without the codes it is all guess work.
