Intercom Choices

I bought two Cardo Scala G9x sets for my wife and I about a year ago. I'm far from being a techno-geek but I can follow simple instructions. What a piece of junk! Take loads of fiddling around to get the intercom to work and then the speakers have a bothersome echo and not much volume. It appears I made a purchasing mistake. All I want is just an intercom so my wife and I can talk back and forth. I don't need the MP3, cell phone, talk to a million other riders features, just an intercom. Is that possible? I looked at the snazzy BMW setup but it won't work unless I have a radio, right? I have an R1200 GS. So, time for all good men to come to the aid of their fellow rider. Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

Not sure I can help. I have a Cardo Scala Rider G9x and it works flawlessly. As an intercom and for music

Contact Cardo's customer service department and see if they can help you sort out the problem. We've found them very supportive.

The GPS notification system works great. Just seems to take forever to get my unit intercom connected to my wife's and when I finally am able the volume is low and there is a definitive echo. I'll keep playing with it and see if a friend can help me. Seems that all the units available on the market have a complete list of bells and whistles and nobody sells just an intercom unit.

IIRC the Scala G9x all you have to do to pair them is knock both devices together.
Volume up is the forward button on top.
I had a twin set years ago. I did find the sound quality to be poor but never any echo.
Did you update the firmware?
