Any ideas on a way to handle the wind better than the stock windshield. I'm referring to long highway rides.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a 1250:wave

What are you trying to alleviate? Wind, buffeting, noise or all of the above?
Have you varied positions on stocker as well?
Not sure if any major changes between 12 and 1250 in design, so maybe items available already

I added one of these on a GSA from Touratech-USA , mostly to see if a taller screen was needed. I ended up leaving it on

Also this aftermarket is popular as well, especially on the F GS's. It is a complete main screen and spoiler

I installed the Puig Touring windscreen and I ain't turning back! Super happy with. It completely changed the ride for me and the bike is that much more enjoyable.

With the GSA, I'm only getting wind on my shoulders and forearms now. Very comfortable and still good enough to get airflow into my suit.

Highly recommended.

Calsci

Calsci is California Scientific....they will mail you a simple guide to their 3 sizes of windscreens to best choose which will suit you. They will also exchange a different size if the one you did choose didn't suit you!

+1, especially with the optional Puig windshield support added. No buffeting!

Best
