RT Dash Display - Metric to Imperial and back

Dress for fall & avoid it
I've got two issues that I would like to resolve with my R1250RT. Canadian bike with metric speedo, etc.

  • Tire Pressure Display
    - The tire pressure display reads in BAR and I can't find a way to switch it to PSI
  • Dash Background Display - when set to Speed
    - On the RT Dash Background Display, since 2014 at least, one has been able to set the centre display to read either "Empty", "Logo", or "Speed Ind.", if equipt with the radio it must be turned off for the display to show anything other than the radio info.
I have always set my Dash Background Display to display "Speed". One of my frustrations is that unlike my 4-wheeled vehicles that have a similar feature, I can not find a way to change the units displayed (kph/mph). In checking with my dealer last week, and Max BMW when I was there several days ago, their understanding is that it is only able to be set by the dealer and would change everything rather than changing the individual items selectively.

I ride my bike frequently in both Canada and the US and would like to be able to have the Dash Background Display show my speed in MPH when I'm in the US for convenience sake. Really don't need any more speeding tickets.

Does anyone know if this can be done by the user? Can it be done with a GS911?

I understand it can be done with a 911 but not having one, I had the dealer change my Bar to PSI! As for the KMH/MPH I just use the GPS with the units changed as I cross the border!:ca

Thanks, Crusty.

I probably should have qualified things with regard to the speed issue.
I do set my GPS to the local units also, but due to an eye stigmatism, my vision while riding isn't great for smaller text like the GPS, etc., and the speed display on the dash background is great.
