    1977 BMW R100RS - Engine Serial #

    Just finished taking the photos for a 1977 BMW R100RS and I noticed an added lettering on the engine serial # - CFO 6181063.

    Can anyone shed some light on what the CFO means, as I check my reference library and cannot find anything about it.

    It is a special version of the bike meant to comply with requires in California-Florida-Oregon. More info here:
