St Louis to Nashville - best bike route

My son and I are going to attend our first MOA rally and are really excited. We live in northern IL and are going to ride to St Louis and then over to Nashville for the rally. Does anyone know of a good route beside the interstates? Thanks!

I'm going to be following the Mississippi River from Minnesota to Memphis, then over to Lebanon.
I plan on taking the Great River Road so it looks like Illinois 3 out of St Louis

that is the way we rode up to Minnesota for the rally. That is a nice ride, be sure to check out Galena, IL if you haven't. See you at the Boogie!

Hwy 41 is a decent ride but I don't think you can get to it too easily from St. Louis.

If you can, take it into TN, ease over to Hwy 31E in Hendersonville & then Hwy 109 into Lebanon. That way you avoid the Nashville traffic, which is indeed no fun.

Illinois 3 may not be open because of the flooding down by Alton and Grafton because of the rains we have had. I was just down there this past weekend and Illinois 3 was still closed hopefully it will be clear by rally week for you guys. Me and my dad are heading down ourselves he is from the Alton area and I’m from the the Springfield area.Just wanted to give a heads up
