Wethead GS - pesky rubber grommets, right side battery cover

These elongated rubber grommets can be a pain - when putting the right side battery cover back in place, the grommets can push through the holes and disappear, often for good.

These are item "6" in diagram.

Solution - glue them in place with Stik-n-Seal

I've had the bike back from a service where the tech caused one of these to disappear.

Follow the directions on the Stik-n-Seal tube and solve the problem.

Or, zip tie them in place. Or, do both. But, always moisten the plastic protrusion before inserting.

On all of this type of application I use a smear of synthetic brake caliper grease. It is harmless to the rubber and the plastic. I started doing this in 1986 with K75 side covers and have been doing it ever since.
