Emission stuff removal 92 r100r

I made a decision to remove the rest of the emissions system. The tube to the heads had already been removed. I have gone ahead and removed the two solenoids and routed the gas lines like my /5.
There is a small tube which appears to be another vent to the crankcase maybe. It had what looked like a check valve,so I plugged that up. There is some wiring that supplied voltage to the solenoids and I removed that as well. However there was a ground lug on one of the solenoid mounting brackets and I am not sure what to do with that. Tie it back to ground or remove it. (See photo). Also if anyone has a good idea for covering the old holes in the starter cover where the fuel lines ran through. Feels good to get some intimacy with this bike. Thanks for any help.E8195F8D-986D-45C2-8B91-65FFC59005C6.jpg

Reattach the ground. The cleanest solution for the starter cover is to find an older one without the cutouts. They are occasionally available in the various used parts markets such as FleaBay. Holes into the airbox from the air tubes are easily covered with timing plug covers. There is no crankcase vent associated with the Pulse Air System. Most likely the small tube with the check valve is the vacuum supply which operates the solenoids. Plugging it is fine, but I always remove the line from both carburetors and replace them at the carb with rubber caps. If you do this, be sure to plug the entrance of the small tube into the airbox to prevent unfiltered air from entering.

Ted Porter at the Beemer Shop has the plugs you need for the air box. He sells a kit to plug all the various holes when you remove the emissions plumbing. He's in Scott's Valley, so should be close to you.
