Interesting that your inner number matched the lid number from the old thread.
I wonder if the numbers from the old thread are reversed.
Seems odd the old thread shows a short number for one side inner and a long number for the other side inner.

I think they may be reversed indeed.

I also have a bit more info now on the shorter number. The full part number should actually add a 7160 in front of it. I was able to find a very close match on the fiches. For example, the K1200RS right bottom housing is 71607669894. The digits without the 7160 on the one I have here is 7669892, which I am sure should read 71607669892. So, we're off by the last digit. I wonder if BMW produced different numbers for the different market bikes. These panniers came from the UK, so I assume they were on a European model of the K1200RS or GT. I'm trying to track down a European parts number list.

Anyways, I think I'm getting closer and there is high confidence that these are indeed for a K1200RS and potentially a GT, just in black and not the color options originally provided for the US market.

If anyone has a LH pannier case for sale that will fit a 2004 K1200RS, please advise.

Remember guys, the buy/sell, want to buy/sell needs to be through the Marketplace- accessed at the top of the page. It will keep someone from answering a many year old bit of "interest". There is no provision for cleanup here on the forum.
