A few years ago riding across Montana, we could see "smoke" over the road. When we got closer we realized quickly that it was bugs! I don't remember the variety, but they apparently liked the heat radiating off the pavement. I remember any foward facing part of my Harley was completely covered with a thick layer of brown/green goo. I couldn't see through the windshield. Just nasty!
