cheers, you gents are correct, no "harvest" in the name. The fellow who I'm trying to find the bike for says he thinks Havana Gold is on the money, and something about his memory starting to go with old ageand it was a "love it or hate it" color
Havana Gold is damn near brown...
The 1978 R100RS was Code# 546 Gold Metallic

I know the owner of the bike in your search and he chooses to remain anonymous. We have been in contact and he tells me his VIN # does NOT match the Gold RS mentioned which you are searching. So, sorry you must continue to search a little deeper, but this is NOT the bike that was your friends.

Dug up some photos of the RS I'm seeking.
- 1978 BMW R100RS in (?) Gold, with the VIN 6182967
- I did a VIN search: as of 2014 it was titled in PA, and is still titled there. At the time it had about 78k miles on it
- I'm looking for it for the gentleman who owned the bike from 1988-1995. He sold it to a rider in NY in 1995.
We've ruled out the gentleman and bike posted on the first page of the thread- thanks!

I know that the owner I'm helping search for it sold it to a guy from New York in 1995, for $1k, he was living here in Virginia at the time. Does that match where you bought the bike? or the person you got it from?
